Emerson turned 1...praise the Holy One!

Good evening all. So I obviously hadn’t written since a few days when Mac posted. Today was an absolutely amazing day!  *Mia was very excited to sing! Well first off let me say that my Lord and savior breathed life into me and many of my loved ones today, so that in itself is a blessing. But many of you know that today we celebrated Emerson’s 1st birthday! I can’t hardly believe it to be honest. I mean I’ve felt since his birth and recognition of what was perceived to be a visual impairment that God was going to be doing a work in Mac. Has he been faithful or what! Hallelujah (that would be the response from the Golden girls from my home church @Connect church Algiers).  This past year has been nothing short of miraculous. I’m thinking maybe a book or even short film. Ironically that has been on my heart a lot. Shaken up

Caution, this post is real, as they all are. However it may make some of you uncomfortable.  Have you every watched Moana? There is a scene where moana is after Maui. Well in the middle of the night as she is voyaging there is a storm, she ask the water to help. She wakes up ship wrecked on an island and is upset, because she believes she is off course. She realizes she landed on the island where Maui has been. Well let me give you a better picture. The disciples sitting in a boat, and there is a bad storm. All the while Jesus is asleep. WHAT! The disciples in fear of drowning awoke Jesus.  “And they went and woke him, saying, "Save us, Lord; we are perishing." And he said to them, "Why are you afraid, O you of little faith?" Then he rose and rebuked the winds and the sea, and there was a great calm. What is your focus?

Krewe of Calderon! So a short update and then I’m going to get real.  Praising God for Emerson’s health. I mean his numbers continue to improve. This week Mac has been quite congested, which means a lot of coughing attempting to bring that yucky junk up. We continue to work on eating, sometimes with enjoyment, other times with uttermost defiance. Lips so tight, I know that he is breathing through his nose, and he will not budge. Not even a small opening to taste. We have been sleeping better with continuous feeds (checkout post on 2/16/2020) This past Friday...well let’s just says it had been a day. It’s Mardi Gras down here in New Orleans, so that means busy city and kids are off for a week. On top of that I’ve been trying to make sure things are in order, at least in my eyes, before Emerson is re-admitted for his 3rd round of chemo. I often find myself so caught up in ‘stuff’ I forget about what’s really important. My kids! Have you heard of Mary and Martha? ...
