Intentional

Emerson we love you

I am still learning from you, loving on your siblings

==•==

Good evening.

As many of you had recently read about my process of applying for a job. As many of you know I have not worked for over a year and a half. To be honest I’m not scared of going back.  I mean the world of medicine looks a lot different in the past year with a pandemic.

I currently am a stay at home mom, navigating home schooling my kids, with the help of my younger sister (who also is homeschooling).

I can tell you it is not easy.

The Lord ask

"Start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old they will not turn from it."

-‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭22:6‬ ‭

Now with that said I can show appreciation for all that my parents did in their rearing of me as a child. Though it didn’t feel pleasant at the time I can see the results of following instructions as an adult.

I say all of this to get to my point of being intentional with my time and my prayers with the Lord. Making sure I spend time before the Lord can seem, well simply put HARD. The reality is we, I, can often feel so consumed with the things that need to be done in the day

tending to the kids every need (feeding, bathroom, tantrums, school)

house hold responsibilities

me time? NOT REALLY 😊

....time with the Lord

Well if and when I get to it, I’m exhausted or I say I will do it later

Let’s all admit to those moments when we have fallen asleep during our time with Jesus and say ‘Well the Lord knew I was tired, so he placed a slumber over me.’ The reality is Jesus desires to be in relationship with you. That means giving undivided attention to Him as he does for us.

I’m not sure if you recall how our Lord came before the Father.

Very early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house and went off to a solitary place, where he prayed. -Mark 1:35 NIV

Can I ask you something? What have you been intentional about? I am going to list what I desire to be more intentional about

✳️time with the Lord

✳️praying for healing during this time of grieving for Emerson

✳️for my children, that I will be more present and be an example of Christ

✳️my marriage

✳️my career; how does God want to use me now after all I have experienced

✳️for our government

✳️those who don’t know Jesus

Father in Heaven, I thank you and praise you for this day. For allowing renewal in our lives. For your continued pursuit of us in our lives. I pray that we may be intentional with our praying to you, with our time spent with you. Jesus you are not some mystical form in a bottle here to grant wishes. Often time our prayers could appear to go unanswered. The truth is it may not be of your will, or it may not be in that timing for an answer to be given. Though that may seem difficult Lord I pray for continued persistence so that we make seek out your hearts desire for us. That we may trust your way in our lives and not fall prey to the weariness of this world. Jesus may my love ones remember that though my families heart prayer was to heal Emerson, here on earth, you did so heal him by calling him back to you. So I pray that you may break walls down so that I too may be eager in my time with you Lord. In Jesus precious name, amen

“And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people."

-‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭6:18‬ ‭NIV‬‬
